HOME WATCH FOR SECOND HOMES IN UZÈS
Your home, professionally checked while you’re away.
We focus exclusively on Home Watch for second homes.
Because we do not manage holiday rentals, our time and attention remain dedicated to absent owners and their properties throughout the year.
How our Home Watch service works
From your first consultation to every follow-up, each step is clear, secure and documented.
01

Free introductory visit
We meet at your property to understand your needs and concerns. Together, we review your home, define what should be checked and create a property-specific inspection protocol.
02

You approve your plan
We recommend the most suitable plan and provide a clear, transparent quotation, based on our published rates. Once you approve it, we agree the inspection schedule and access arrangements with you.
03

We inspect your property
While you are away, we carry out regular visual inspections using your customised protocol. We look for changes, damage or anything else that may require attention.
04

You receive a detailed report
After every inspection, a clear report is uploaded to your secure private portal. It includes time-stamped, geo-tagged photographs and details of anything we observed.
05

We help coordinate the next steps
If something needs attention, we contact you promptly. With your approval, we can coordinate the appropriate local professional and keep you informed of progress.
06

You are billed for completed inspections and services only
Each month, you receive a clear, itemized invoice covering only the completed inspections and services approved in advance. No upfront payment is required.

Rémi Tremblay
Founder & Manager
A French-Canadian living in Uzès since 2021, I know the region well and understand the concerns that can arise when leaving a residence unoccupied.
As a former director with the Government of Canada, I held positions requiring the highest levels of reliability, sound judgement and confidentiality. Today, I bring these same qualities to our clients, ensuring that Village Crows handles their homes and personal information with the utmost care and discretion.
The Village Crows Six Commitments
Entrusting someone with access to your home requires confidence, consistency and complete transparency. These six commitments guide every Village Crows inspection and every interaction with our clients.
01

Your report is delivered within an hour after the inspection
You will receive your comprehensive, time-stamped and geo-tagged photographic report in English or French, according to your preference, within an hour after we have inspected your property.
02

Urgent issues are reported as soon as they are identified
If we identify something requiring your immediate attention, we contact you immediately via our dedicated app and explain clearly what we have observed, coupled with supporting photographs.
03

With your approval, we promptly coordinate a response
At your written request, we arrange a visit by an independent local service provider. You retain approval of any quotation and work, while we can provide access, attend the appointment and send you updates and photographs.
04

Your property is assigned to a named local inspector
Your scheduled inspections are normally carried out by the same identified local inspector. When a replacement is required, only an authorised, vetted and insured Village Crows inspector approved by you may access your property. You will always be informed in advance of who will attend.
05

Every access is recorded and remains under your control
Village Crows never holds, manages or shares physical keys. Access is provided through a secure smart door lock using an individual, trackable and revocable credential issued by you. Your keys therefore remain inside your property and are never stored in an outdoor lockbox.
06

Every charge is transparent and approved in advance
All Village Crows rates are publicly available on our website and include French VAT at 20%, allowing you to understand our charges before choosing a service. We add no hidden fees and never arrange an additional service without your prior written approval.

A rigorous protocol, tailored to your property
Every home is unique. During our initial visit, we work with you to create a customised inspection protocol covering the areas, equipment and particular points of concern within your property.
At every inspection, this structured protocol ensures that the same elements are checked systematically, making it easier to identify changes and clearly document our observations with supporting time-stamped photographs.
How is an inspection carried out?
The inspector carries out a ground-level visual check of the agreed accessible interior areas and visible exterior elements of the residence. Private gardens and grounds are inspected when the Grounds Add-on is included. Potted plant watering is available as a separately priced add-on.
Specifically, the inspector:
01

Notes any obvious visible change, damage or irregularity
02

Checks for visible leaks, damp or water ingress
03

Looks for visible signs of pests or insects
04

Checks for unusual smells, noises, warning lights or other apparent concerns
05

Removes mail, flyers and parcels from the letterbox or entrance area
06

Ventilates the property and takes meter readings where agreed
